"Ericka (Ricki) Thompson, PA-C, is a native of Phoenix, AZ. She joined the Navy at 18 due to the disappointing lack of beaches in Arizona and to see the world. She earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Nuclear Engineering Technology while serving her country working in the Engineering Department on U.S. Navy aircraft carriers overseas and in Washington State.After completing almost nine years the Navy, she embarked on a new journey to explore the overlap of engineering and medicine.

Ricki has called Virginia Beach home since 2010, when her husband was stationed at NAS Oceana to fly F/A-18 Super Hornets. She received her Master’s in Surgical Assisting from Eastern Virginia Medical School in 2014 and subsequently worked in the Operating Room at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. While at SNGH, Ricki specialized in Plastic Surgery, Neurosurgery, and Trauma. She later returned to EVMS to complete her second Master’s degree as a Physician Assistant in the pursuit of more patient interaction outside of the Operating Room.

Ricki joined the practice to apply her background in engineering, advanced surgery knowledge, and passion for plastics toward making every patient’s experience unique and enjoyable."
