"As a family physician in Richmond, VA for more than 25 years, Dr. David Pong works to develop trusting relationships with his patients for the purpose of empowering them to get the health outcomes they want.
“I do a lot of teaching (and learning),” he says. “I see my job as helping translate the often-complicated world of healthcare into something clear and actionable you can use to improve your life.”
He focuses on providing his patients, who range from children over age 6 to the elderly, with knowledge and tools to pursue their own goals. “I’m honored and privileged to be their partner in health. Over the years, some patients have come to feel like family – we have relationships spanning my whole time practicing in Richmond. Sometimes I unlock the doors for them, but, more often, I help them learn how to unlock the doors for themselves.”
Dr. Pong has a wealth of experience helping his patients understand preventive techniques, especially those relating to cardiovascular disease, obesity, and diabetes. “Helping my patients clearly see their present health status and come to recognize the power that they can wield in shaping their future health is at the core of why I practice at PartnerMD.”
Dr. Pong also serves as PartnerMD’s Director of Executive Health. In this role, he works to manage the advanced physical program across all PartnerMD offices."
