Cindy Cedillo-Ruiz, MD

"Dr. Cindy is a board certified family medicine physician born and raised in Houston. She has been bridging the healthcare gap in Houston since elementary school when she was enlisted to translate for her parents during medical appointments. Dr. Cindy’s parents struggled to find culturally competent doctors that were able to communicate in Spanish which is why she chose to enter medicine.

After graduating from the University of Houston, Dr. Cindy attended Baylor Medical School. After earning her medical degree (MD), she chose to stay at Baylor so she could focus on providing primary care for underserved and underresourced communities.

Upon finishing her residency with Baylor, where she was Chief Resident, Dr. Cindy worked with the Harris Health System providing primary care for Houstonians. After two years, she went on to become the emergency room director for Jackson County. Currently, she is the owner of Prickly Pear Family Medicine."
