Thomas Kosztowski, MD

"Thomas Kosztowski, M.D. is a Neurosurgeon at the Texas Back Institute in Plano, Texas. He received his Medical Degree and did his Residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital. While at Johns Hopkins Hospital, he completed a Minimally Invasive and Complex Spine Fellowship followed by a Post-Graduate Spine Fellowship at Brown University Rhode Island Hospital. Dr. Kosztowski had been involved in the Spinal Outcomes and Biomechanics Laboratory at Johns Hopkins Hospital and now is involved in the Gait Laboratory for Spinal Conditions at Texas Back Institute. He was also a Clinical Consultant with the Food & Drug Administration from 2016-2020 focusing on the testing and regulation of novel neurosurgical devices.

Dr. Kosztowski is involved in research and has been published in many medical journal publications. He has written over 20 book chapters on spine surgery techniques, spinal tumors, brain tumors, and other topics within the realm of Neurosurgery.

Outside of work, Dr. Kosztowski enjoys spending time with his family. He also believes in the importance of staying fit and healthy."

The Scoliosis & Spine Tumor Center runs a monthly support group for its adolescent scoliosis patients and their families. The Center also offers complex revision surgery for patients who have had issues with a prior surgery, as well as a concierge program for its visitors from out of town."
