Arrogant, Insulting, Greedy Practice
This office is all about money, and does not care for their patients. To say I am extremely disappointed, would be an understatement. I was greeted rudely by the front desk staff, who talked to each other the entire time. The receptionist put a camera in my face and attempted to take my picture without saying anything. Joseph Gatti was extremely impersonal and very rushed. It seemed like he would rather be anywhere else; I did not feel listened to or respected by him. When I asked questions, he would either blurt out something very fast, or google my question (he did this over 4 times) and read me whatever the first result was. He made several demeaning comments such as “every woman I see says that”; or “I’ll tell you what I tell every other woman who sees me”. I was seeing him regarding hair loss, and he only looked at my hair/scalp for about 10 seconds. He said he would refer me for a blood test (which I just had at my primary doctor a week prior) and seemed prepared to end the appointment then (5 minutes in). He did not ask me questions or seem to care about my health, just tell me results from google and say “any other questions?”. He prescribed me a drug that is a diuretic (for flushing out excess water); despite the fact I told him I have been extremely dehydrated from a separate medication. I received a separate medical opinion from a professional who told me it would be extremely unhealthy to take this medication he prescribed me (which was for acne, not hair loss, which was my primary concern). Joseph Gatti made comments about my skin which I found offensive and insulting. He did not look at my skin up close yet “diagnosed” me with several skin disorders including sunburn in the second degree which I did NOT have nor mention. I am fair skinned and do not tan outside or in a tanning bed. I believe he entered that to bill my insurance more money. I got the impression he was preying on my self-esteem and making rude comments so that I would come back to their office for skin treatments and/or surgery so they could make money. Worth noting: the entire office, including Gatti, have extensive plastic surgery to their faces and body. I felt very disrespected. As other reviews mention, my appointment was only 15 minutes. Gatti handed me a paper form with no explanation (it’s a scheduling form for the front desk) and rushed out. I brought the form to the receptionists, who unprofessionally complained to me about how they were double booking his appointments. They scheduled my follow up for 5:15 PM and their office closes at 5:30. The entire appointment made me feel like I was just herded cattle to them. I will be sharing my experience with this dermatology office with the other medical professionals I know and trust. I would not recommend this dermatologist to anyone I know. The medication he prescribed me would make my situation 100% worse and be potentially dangerous to my health.
