Doctor Details:

"Dr James Cail, III loves practicing medicine in the way that guided him to go into medicine in the first place: the ability to get to know his patients, to become a part of their lives, and to be a trusted piece of the family puzzle. Dr. James Cail, III was born in Waco, TX but grew up in Edmond, OK. He attended Oklahoma Christian from 1988-1992, Oklahoma State College of Osteopathic Medicine from 1993-1997, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine; where he completed his Internship/Residency at Hillcrest Family Medicine from 1997-2000. He has worked in family practice since 2000, as well as obstetrics, emergency medicine, geriatrics, and hospital inpatient services. Dr. Cail fancied the idea of becoming a famous singer or a professional athlete, but at his core, he remembers as a small child he had the certainty that he would be a doctor when he grew up. He never had any doubt about what he wanted because he identified with the doctors that cared for him, and he recognized early on that he would be able to fill an important role in the lives of those around him and contribute to the greater good. Dr. Cail is the father of two fantastic girls and they keep him very busy. His passion is going on adventures with his family with a family motto of AGAIN (Always Get Adventures In Now!). He enjoys lifting weights, taking in movies, watching football, as well as his love for traveling. He and his sisters all live within a few miles of the home where they grew up and their parents still reside."

Clinic Details:

"Our Mission is to return to the essence of healthcare Creating a Transcendent doctor-patient relationship. Recently, a study showed the burn out rates among primary care physicians to be in the top five of all specialties. Unfortunately in our current health care environment that is not going to change any time soon. Reimbursements are falling and physicians are being driven to see more and more patients and spend less time with them. Physicians desire to build relationships with their patients, but after a busy day of practice there is no compensation to further connect with patients much less the energy to do so. In a nutshell health care in the primary care setting is broken. DPC involves patients paying a monthly subscription fee to the practice. In return they get to be a part of a smaller patient panel and thus have more access to the physician. They usually can text, email or call the practice 24/7 and rarely have to wait for an appointment. They also get longer visits and generally have a very high satisfaction with the arrangement. We believe that over time, third parties, because of investor and market pressures, have compromised the quality of the patient experience. When you remove those third parties (insurance companies), no longer do we have to serve their demands, but can focus only on the patient concerns. Those third party relationships increase cost and decrease physician-patient time. PHP believes without those third parties, the doctor-patient relationship can thrive. The result is increased patient satisfaction, cost savings and improved clinical outcomes."
