Michael Canter, MD

"Dr. Michael Canter has been a practicing physician since 2003. After receiving his Bachelor of Science with Departmental Honors from UCLA, Dr. Canter went on to graduate with the highest honors, Alpha Omega Alpha, from New York Medical College in 1999. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Canter then trained for three years at one of the most competitive Emergency Medicine Residencies in the country, the Jacobi/Montefiore Program. At Jacobi, he was selected to serve as Chief Resident in Emergency Medicine, and subsequently joined the staff at Jacobi Medical Center. Since 2005, Dr. Canter has been an attending physician in the Emergency Department at Greenwich Hospital, part of Yale New Haven Health System. He is an active member in both the New York and Connecticut medical communities. He is involved in the medical education of paramedics, nurses, physician assistants, Internal Medicine students and residents. Dr. Canter holds administrative positions at Greenwich Hospital including his seat on the Medical Executive and Credentialing Committees. He has been a nominee and recipient of several quality awards at Greenwich Hospital for excellence in clinical care. Dr. Michael Canter is highly knowledgeable in all aspects of medicine.
