Dr. Lara Baatenburg believes the best healthcare starts by asking a simple question: What do you want your health to make possible?
As a board-certified family medicine physician, she takes the time to understand each patient’s goals, lifestyle, health history, challenges, and priorities. She recognizes that the “right” medical plan is not simply one that looks good on paper—it must also be realistic, sustainable, and meaningful to the person living it.
Dr. Lara works collaboratively with her patients, helping them understand their health and participate in decisions about their care. Her approach combines evidence-based medicine with prevention, nutrition, movement, sleep, stress management, and sustainable lifestyle change. Rather than focusing only on individual symptoms or lab results, she looks at the whole person and builds a plan around what matters most to them.
Dr. Lara earned her medical degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and completed her family medicine residency at Trinity Health Grand Rapids. She also completed a fellowship in integrative medicine through the University of Arizona’s Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine and is a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner.
Outside the office, she enjoys cooking, weight lifting, CrossFit, running, spending time outdoors, and being with her dog.
