"I was born in Quincy IL, the second of four daughters. My interst in Medicine started with my pediatrician. He treated my family with respect and kindness. I had no other role models at the time and did not know all the details of practicing medicine but I set this as my goal at the age of 10. After completing my high school education in Quincy, I attended Drake University in Des Moines IA where I graduated with a Bachelar of Science Degree. Southern Illinois School of Medicine was my next stage of education. My choice of specialty, Family Medicine, was influenced by my rotations and again my memories of being treated by my doctor as a child. After graduation, Dru and I moved to Milwaukee WI where I completed my Residency Training at St Lukes Hospital. It was a wonderful experience that prepared me for my first job at the Family Medical Center in Lincoln IL. Our family, which included DRU and I along with our daughter Emily, moved to Lincoln in 1991 where we still live today. After the birth of our second child, Ben in 1993 , we became very busy parents. My job changed in 2001 to Bromenn Hospital which later became Advocate Bromenn. I worked as the Medical Director of the Wound and Hyperbaric Center in Normal IL for the next 19 years. Our children have grown to become part of the health care community. Emily is an ICU nurse, working on her Masters Degree and Ben is a Family Medicine physician finishing his Residency Program. My desire to work beside DRU and provide quality medical care to my community at an affordable cost has lead me to CIDC in July 2020."
